Behavioral Consultation

Do you need your dog or cat questions answered and don't want or need to attend a full training class? Then my consultation service is for you!

For a basic assessment, I come to you and talk to you in the comfort of your own home. I am able to address a variety of behavior issues you may be having with your dog or cat. Barking, House soiling, digging, chewing, nutrition, introducing the pet to a new baby or family member or biting to name just a few.

For an extended temperament analysis you bring your dog to me and I spend 8 to 12 hours assessing your dog's particular temperament, behavior traits, and current training level. You will get a full written evaluation that you can take to your vet, insurance agent, etc. I use the same methods that the Humane Society and PAWS use to evaluate pets for potential adoption.

Consultation fees:

Basic behavior assessment: $50 per hour
Extended temperament / behavior analysis: $400 per day.

There are over 4 million unwanted pets in America today. The main reason most animal are sent to shelters is that people made bad choices when deciding to add a new pet to their family.

Are your kids pestering you for a new puppy? Are you yourself thinking of getting your first pet and have never had one before? Let me help you make the right choice.

Whether you're thinking of a dog or a cat, purebred or mutt I can help steer you in the right direction when it come time to choose a new family member. I help you look at a multitude of factors with the added benefit that my opinion is based on experience with a variety of cats and dogs and what is right for you and your family based on facts and not emotions or snap judgements. I put your needs and the needs of your potential new pet to the forefront.

I sit down with you and we discuss the type of pet you want to add to your family. Based on the information you provide I am able to recommend several choices based on breed, size, temperament, etc that will best suit your lifestyle and pocket book.

I can and will go with you to the shelter or breeder to help you choose the pet that is right for you. I can also help you avoid making costly and tragic mistakes.

Pet Matching service: $30 for the first hour and $10 for each additional hour, rounded to up to the nearest hour.
Any travel over 30 miles will be billed at .30 cents per mile.


Business Consultation:

Are you wanting to start a pet sitting or doggy daycare business of your own? You're not sure where to start or you've read the "books" and still have questions.  I'm able to help with that.  With 13 years of experience I can help you avoid costly and time consuming mistakes.  I can't give away my knowledge for free but you will find my rates reasonable.
