Positive Dog Training
When selecting a trainer for your dog you should ask what their style of training is.
I use positive reinforcement which makes each training session easier and more enjoyable for both you and your dog. Because I am a certified trainer you know that I have the education and tools to help you get the most out of every dog training class you attend.
I offer the following types of training for yo and your dog:
Puppy pre-school; for puppies 8 to 16 wks. Puppy kindergarten; for puppies 17 weeks to 4 months. Basic puppy manners; for puppies 4 to 6 months. Basic dog obedience for all dogs over 6 months. Advanced dog obedience Competition dog obedience Canine Good Citizen training Scent work Beginning and intermediate tracking Rally-O; These classes are a fun way to enjoy competition level obedience with no pressure.
There are several types of classes to choose from:
Group classes One-on-one classes either here or at your at your home Board and Train
All group classes are kept small, only 10 dogs and handlers, so that everyone gets enough time to have their individual problems and questions answered. Group classes are held here and start the first Sat of each month.
Private sessions are great for those people who don't have time on Saturdays or have specific problems they need to work on with their dog. I am able to tailor each training session to meet the specific needs of you and your dog and you have the convenience of scheduling the training time to fit your lifestyle.
Board and train is for those people who just don't have the time to work with their dog daily or have a dog with special problems such as chewing or excessive barking that needs correcting. With this type of training I keep your dog for 4 weeks. At the end of each week you visit your dog and work with it for about an hour. At the end of the 4th week you take your dog home and work with it on your own. At the end of the 5th week you bring your dog back for a final follow up session and we talk about the sucsesses your having and what still needs to be worked on.
Kids and dogs safety and obedience class.
Let's teach our kids how to be safe around their dogs and also strange dogs. I'm sure you've told your kids how to act around dogs but.... sometimes hearing it from a stranger can have more impact on a child.
I teach your kids how to act around their own dog and the dogs of their friends and extended family. They will also learn the proper way to ask a stranger if they can pet their dog. Other skills that are taught include learning the basics of feeding, grooming and caring for their own pets. They will learn fun and safe games to play with their dogs as well as what to do in an emergency situation.
